Role in project
In IMAGEN, Neurospin will supervise the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics sub-project (WP7). On the bioinformatics side, we will help in collecting the data from the different imaging centres with our partners Scito and NNL, anonymize the data with Tembit, construct and host the hybrid database that will consist of the brain imaging data, the genetic and behavioural information, and provide with tools to analyse this database. On the biostatistical part of the sub-project, we will develop inovative statistical methodology to analyse this large and complex set of data, with feature selection and classification tools. We plan to develop and use non parametric testing procedure, adapted dimension reduction technics.

The neurospin imaging centre (CEA, DSV, I2BM) based in St Aubin, France, (head D. Lebihan) is a unique plateform in Europe for high field brain imaging that already hosts 2 Siemens MRI scanners (3T, 7T) and will be soon equiped with a MEG scanner and a 17T MRI for small animal. The teams at Neurospin have world wise recognized experience in cognitive studies, patient studies, image analyses, MRI physics, data analyses, computer science, etc. Neurospin hosts team from CEA, INSERM and INRIA on site. It has a strong experience in brain imaging methods and software development.
