WP05 - Imaging Acquisition Data Standardisation

WP 05 ensures the efficient and integrated acquisition of each individual subject neuroimaging (WP 06) and neuropsychological (WP 04) dataset from the healthy adolescent sample. These subjects will be recruited from multiple European sites and data will be transferred to the centralised database (WP 07).

The objectives of WP5 are as follows:

  • Developing of manual-based standard operating procedures, including local level quality control, for MRI neuroimaging of subjects in concert with WP 04, WP06 and WP 07.
  • Implementing of standard operating procedures (SOP) for MRI neuroimaging, including equipment upgrades, for the Europewide multisite study.

WP leader is Dr. Laurence John Reed (Ph.D. MRCPsych.) is Lecturer in Addiction Neurobiology at the IoP. Laurence Reed is an experienced expert in psychiatric and behavioural functional neuroimaging. The Centre for Neuroimaging Sciences (CNS) and Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP) at the Institute of Psychiatry, London, are the key hub sites developing recruitment, blood-sampling, neuropsychological testing and imaging strategies to ensure efficient measures are in place for the conduct of this study. Clinical aspects of these procedures will be developed in concert with WP4 – Subject Recruitment Workgroup, based at the SGDP. Imaging strategies will be developed with WP6 to ensure optimum delivery, acquisition, dataflow and local quality control / assurance procedures are developed and implemented in the Europe-wide phase of the project.
